History
The history of Econosto has known several milestones that were decisive for its development. Each time it was required, there were entrepreneurs at the helm at the right moment, who changed course when new market perspectives were observed. Besides its establishment on 3 September 1892, the move from Delft to Rotterdam would later appear to be another milestone for the company.
This also applies to the year 1903 with the move from Delft - where the cradle of Econosto stands - to Rotterdam which, in this period, was busy developing itself from a merchant city to transit harbour with a large market area in mainly maritime activities as a spin-off. The growth of Econosto ran parallel to the expansion of the Rotterdam harbour into the most important harbour of Western Europe. Rotterdam therefore became an ideal place of business for ship- yards, refineries, tobacco factories, beer breweries and producers of margarine. They were all companies with a great demand for valves and fittings.
